B.Sc. (2001) and M.Sc. (2006) in Economics from Bocconi University. Ph.D. in Economics from the California Institute of Technology (2012).

Associate Professor at the Department of Economics "Ettore Bocconi". Associate Director of the Bocconi Experimental Laboratory for the Social Sciences (BELSS). Director of the B.Sc. in Economic and Social Sciences (BESS). Research Affiliate at CEPR and CESifo. Editorial Board Member at PSRM, the Journal of the European Political Science Association. 

Before joining Bocconi, I served as Assistant Professor at UC San Diego and at Columbia University. My research is in political economy, behavioral economics, experimental economics, and microeconomic theory, and it has been published in leading international journals including the American Economic Review, the Journal of the European Economic Association, Management Science, the American Political Science Review, and the American Journal of Political Science. I recently received a European Research Council Starting Grant for a five-year project on the “Behavioral Foundations of Populism and Polarization”.

Research interests

My research is in political economy, experimental economics, behavioral economics and microeconomic theory. My work has been published in leading international journals including the American Economic Review, the Journal of the European Economic Association, the American Political Science Review, and the American Journal of Political Science. I was recently awarded an ERC Starting Grant for a five-year project on the "Behavioral Foundations of Populism and Polarization".
